Too Cool for Internet Explorer

Installing Truetype Fonts on Fedora

There are thousands of true typefonts available for free and it's easy to install them:

  1. Download a font and unpack it (they are usually zipped)
  2. Open Nautilus (aka file browser) and type fonts:///
  3. Copy the *.ttf file to the fonts folder
  4. Start a terminal and type the command fc-cache -v -f

You may have to restart any running applications to be able to use the new font(s).

Tip: There is an *.rpm package available with a large collection of truetype fonts. Have a look at this page
